This describes what we actually collect, written in plain English. If our code does something this page doesn't say, the code is wrong and we'll fix it.

What we collect

  • Email address — only if you subscribe to the Frontier Dispatch. Used to send benchmark alerts. Never sold, never shared.
  • Aggregate analytics — page views, referrer, country, and the events listed below. We run two analytics providers side by side: Rybbit (cookieless, privacy-respecting — no cookies, no fingerprinting) and Google Analytics 4 (standard web analytics, which does set cookies and is governed by Google's privacy policy). Both receive the same aggregate events; neither receives anything you type into our tools.
  • Contact form submissions — whatever you send us, used only to reply.

The events we track

To measure whether the site is useful, we track these events and nothing else:

  • model_fit_complete — that someone used the Model Fit tool and the fit class returned.
  • benchmark_filter — which filters are used (so we know what content to add).
  • outbound_click_moreyess — clicks toward MoreYess, because we disclose ownership.
  • email_signup — newsletter subscriptions.
  • decision_impact_yes / decision_impact_no — the feedback prompt on whether the site changed a decision.

What we do NOT collect

  • Your identity, unless you give it to us via email.
  • Anything you type into the Model Fit tool — that stays in your browser.
  • Prompt content or model output from any local-AI tool you use.

A note on IP addresses: Rybbit discards yours after deriving country and stores nothing on your device. Google Analytics 4 does receive your IP address as part of its standard request, though we have enabled Google's IP-anonymization setting, which masks the last octet before storage. We do not store IP addresses ourselves.

Cookies

Rybbit sets no cookies. Google Analytics 4 does set cookies (including _ga, which distinguishes visitors for ~2 years) to measure sessions and returning visitors. We have configured GA4 with Google's anonymize-ip setting. If you'd rather not carry a GA cookie, see the opt-out below.

Your rights

You can request export or deletion of any personal data we hold (essentially: your email if subscribed) by emailing lab@localaifrontier.com. We respond within 30 days.

Analytics opt-out

To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, install Google's official GA opt-out browser add-on. To opt out of everything on this site at once, install a content blocker or use a browser with tracker protection — neither analytics script will then load.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. The subject matter — hardware purchase decisions — is aimed at adults.

Changes

Material changes to this policy are dated at the top of the page and noted on /corrections.
